Three consequences of learning about the international early childhood for my professional and personal development is that I now have more resources available to use when working with families, I am more aware of issues such as poverty, child development and ways to increase families involvement in healthy living. I was not aware of how many websites are available that advocate for children. My experience with learning about the international early childhood field has been very rewarding and it has raised my level of awareness.
One goal for the field relating to international awareness is that I believe that more opportunities for professionals to communicate and share ideas via the web should be available. I believe that if early childhood professionals are able to consult more often about the field instead of waiting until once a year for a conference to occur, that many changes can occur on a regular basis.

Shevia,
I agree with you, we have resources more than we ever imagined at our disposal. They are all valuable resources and to me the exposure is overwhelming. Thanks for sharing!
Its funny because I usually associate the word “consequence” as a negative connotation. However, this course has brought a new meaning to the word. I agree that learning about international early childhood has definitely opened my eyes a bit and made me more aware of issues and most importantly provided me with new knowledge and resources for me to take back and make others just as aware as I now am.
