One of the current international research topics that I chose is Parents and Other Caregivers Perception of Early Childhood Development Needs and Quality located on http://www.ecdvu.org/ssa/major_reports.php. This study focused on understanding and comparing parent’s perspective along with early childhood professional’s perspective to understand children’s needs. The major findings of the study were that parents are knowledgeable about what children need to develop and what the design process involves. Parents are the primary care givers of children and their views are important because they play a role in sustaining the program (Esta, S., 2004). This study also focused on assessment instruments that will assess the Early childhood programs in Ghana. The insights that I gained from this international early childhood website is that learning more about early childhood seems to be the focus not only in America, but also a focus in many countries. The main concerns of each research topic that I read place emphasis on supporting children and establishing high-quality early childhood programs that encourage learning while establishing partnerships with parents. I was surprised to learn that this study proves how knowledgeable parents are about the importance of early childhood and the skills that are needed to prepare their child for the future.

Your post is excellent as always. There is so much we can learn about teaching children and the information available on the web site helps us to become better/best at what we do as early childhood educaters.
Good information. As we educate our children we are also learning from them. Research has proven to be a good source for finding ways to better educate the children of today as we learn from our yesturdays. Nice post.
